Hey everyone, I'm Zainab, a junior in her second year of Model UN. Debating has always been something I've enjoyed, and my experience with Model UN certainly hasn't disappointed, and I've made amazing memories with wonderful people. I first began Model UN in sophomore year in high school and found it riveting to be able to discuss world issues with other individuals seeming to share the same interest. Aside from Model UN, I'm a youth activist and have worked with organizations like Girl Up and Youth Take Charge at NYU. I'm a huge Doctor Who fan, along with a variety of other shows. I like everything, from shopping, to reading, traveling, eating, drawing, photographing, writing, and learning new things. Can't wait to see you all!
Fun Fact: Even though I'm not on the football team, I'm a good tackler; a fact my friends can unfortunately attest to.
Assistant Director: Maria Pazmino
Greeting Earthlings! Because I get two bios I made the entrance different! I'm Maria, and I'm a junior at Hillcrest High School, in my second year in MUN. I joined Model UN Sophomore year in order to try out something new, as I'd never done anything like that before. Model UN has given me amazing memories, with wonderful friends who taught me a lot. Aside from MUN, I love science and hope to study forensics one day, love playing soccer, reading, and watching T.V shows that go from Doctor Who, to Supernatural and even Sherlock. I hope that one day all this UN experience will make me gain the leadership skills and confidence I expected to gain when I joined the class. And I'm looking forward to meeting you all!
1)I act like a 5 year old more than half of the time, and enjoy lightening the mood of a heavy situation.
2)I have had to suffer the epic tackling of our committee director, and my best friend, a few dozen times.
3) Tickle me on my neck and you'll win best delegate ;) (No seriously, do it)
Human enslavement and Trafficking
In order to advance research on the process of evolution and improving the genetic makeup on the human species, a collaborative effort occurred between the scientists of various countries executing genetic engineering research to rapidly advance cells. They began with human tissue and cell samples, but later on used human volunteers to perform the results. A genetic mutation occurred which altered not just the physical makeup of the human volunteers, but also enhanced their mental capabilities. At first, the scientists were proud of their innovative discoveries, but they quickly realized the price of messing with nature. And then, the humans found themselves fighting for control of the planet that for centuries, they claimed as their own.
